Vermicelli upma/ shavige uppit


How to make vermicelli upma ?

  • Roast vermicelli with a spoon of oil in the pan till they start becoming light brown and keep it aside.
  • Get oggarane ready from the template
  • To the oggarane add 1 and half times water of that of vermicelli. Say if you added 2 cups of vermicelli, then add 3 cups of water.
  • Add salt to taste
  • Add any chopped vegetables like carrot/peas (optional )
  • When it looks like the vegetables are almost cooked in the boiling water, add the vermicelli and coriander leaves stir well and let it cook till all the water is evaporated from the vermicelli.
  • You are done !
